• 📸 For diverse young filmmakers 15-18yo - Great films aren’t all about the fancy equipment and the big budgets, so that’s why the FOCUS 15-18 Award is calling for short films made on your phone. The shortlisted entrants will receive free tickets to the summer awards ceremony and have excerpts from their films screened to all our guests! All shortlisted entrants will receive a mentorship session with a top corporate film company, where they can ask their questions, get feedback on their film and learn about the industry.

• 💼 List of creative resources (mostly for London) - Freelands Foundation have compiled a list of amazing resources for the creative industries. It outlines how young people in London can access free or discounted tickets, where they can attend training events to find out about the many opportunities available, how they can participate in dedicated programmes for young people and how they can access mentoring from industry leaders or even become youth trustees.

• ✍️ Young Darwin Scholarship - If you know a young person aged 16-25 with an interest in the natural world, looking to enhance their understanding, explore environmental options and wanting to be part of a community of young people who share similar interests, then this residential scholarship is perfect! Open to any young people from any area of the UK, regardless of their backgrounds or experiences. You do not need a degree or any qualifications to be a scholar.

• 👟 Report: Learn about creative employability from UAL - The world-renowned creative university, UAL, have shared their ‘Creative Attributes Framework’. This document demonstrates how, through the curriculum, UAL empower students and graduates to develop ethical and wide ranging qualities, abilities and behaviours to prepare for the future and sustain a rewarding professional life. Podcasting Labour Market Information:

• 📈 It’s growing FAST: In Dec 2021, there were 2,000,000 podcasts available. Compare that to the number of podcasts in June of 2018, which was 550,000.

• 🎧 More listeners mean more jobs: 4 in 10 Brits are now following, downloading, and consistently listening to podcasts as part of their everyday routine.

• ⌨️ The opportunities expand beyond creating: A huge number of jobs are also available in the tech brands that host podcasts, such as Spotify, Deezer, Simplecast and dozens more.

• 📝 Here’s an amazing list of podcasting jobs that exist that you can direct your students to to help them understand more about the career options.
