Free Craft School for kids over the summer - This summer the Crafts Council Gallery will become a hive of activity where visitors can create, play, and experiment with clays, textiles, paper, and card at a ‘making table’ and meet others who also love craft. On 9 July - 3 September 2022, 11:00am - 5:00pm at the Craft Council Gallery in London.
Free Financial education for young people in the UK - MyBNK have created free financial education workshops for schools to help students form positive habits like saving and delayed gratification with topics from budgeting, banking and borrowing to student finance, tax and pensions. Many of the programmes are free or fully funded and can be delivered either directly in-person, virtually via secure video link or as online courses.

New report: LEPs are prioritising the creative industries - A report commissioned by industry members of the Creative Industries Council (CIC) from Tom Fleming Creative Consultancy has analysed how local authorities and Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs) in England treat supporting the creative industries as a priority. Here are the key takeaways:
Local authorities of all sizes and types are supporting the development and growth of the creative industries.
The creative industries are recognised for the spillover effects they generate e.g. to tourism, innovation and inward investment.
They see the creative sector as means to regenerate and reinvigorate places and provide opportunities for young people.
Lack of finance, flexibility, and capacity are the biggest barriers preventing authorities doing more to support the sector.
Growing creative skills – providing new pathways for people into employment - is the largest unfulfilled priority.
