• 👾 Virtual work experience for VFX, Animation and Games - On 12th July from 11am to 3.30pm! An opportunity for school students to discover the creative industries and build their professional skills through this free Virtual Work Experience event by Escape Studios.

  • Gain insights into VFX, Animation and Games from the comfort of your own home or watch the event with your peers at school.

  • Receive digital recognition for participation at the event and impress employers by listing a Virtual Work Experience ‘attendee/participant badge’ on your LinkedIn or other online profile.

• 📺 Apprenticeships for Accountants in Film and TV - Deadline 3rd July. TEntry-level assistant production accountant roles for anyone 18+ with maths and English language GCSE. ScreenSkills need to recruit and train for accounts roles which is a key skills shortage for the UK’s booming film and TV industry. The assistant production accountant role is part of the production accounting team, which works closely with the wider production management team. In pre-production (before shooting starts), production accountants help the producers and production managers prepare budgets and estimated final cost reports. During production and wrap (when production finishes), they oversee all payments, manage payroll and provide daily or weekly cost reports.

• 🔨 Work experience for careers in Craft - Heritage Crafts X Satchel Careers Workshop (11-18 year olds) on 5th, 7th or 13th July. Heritage Crafts is teaming up with Satchel to showcase some of the nation’s most creative careers. In this free online workshop students will be introduced to two inspiring craftspeople who will speak about their own journey with craft, and how they have made the best use of social media and video to promote their work. • 📚 New report: Levelling the Playing Field by Unifrog - “Addressing the disadvantage gap in careers guidance and students' next steps after school”.

  • 74% of students consider ‘employability links and opportunities’ the most important factor when making decisions about their next step

  • First-in-family students are more likely to find ‘writing a Personal Statement’ and ‘understanding student finance’ challenging than students whose parents attended university.
