If you like these artists, you should work at these labels

Who doesn’t envisage running their hands through the curly burnt auburn locks of Simply Red’s main man, or sewing Bebe Rexha into her dress? Yes, fantasies can become reality and without the need of a restraining order being posted 1st class to your door.
With WMG sporting an artist roster of hundreds, you’re really spoilt for choice in picking a favourite. Not to call out any names in particular but the line-up below may just be your cup of tea and get you sending in your CV’s to their labels in no time:
Cardi B - Hip-Hop/ Latin-Trap / R&B
Artist: I don’t know what’s more impressive, her rapping skills or her personality. I guess you need both to be a hip-hop megastar. Since the feverously catchy bassline and chorus of Bodak Yellow hit the airwaves coupled with her infectious humour and one-liners, the whole planet and it's dog have been cast under the rambunctious 26 year old’s spell. Despite being early in the game she's already stocked up on countless music awards (MTV, BET, Teen choice……), and something tells me she'll be needing more shelving pronto.
Label: Atlantic Records, with a taste for talent spanning back over 70 years, their roster has included household names such as Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles and Otis Redding to name but a few. Carrying on this legacy is their current and upcoming talent. So if you want to be a part of one of the most dynamic and diverse labels check Atlantic out.
Michael Bublé - Jazz/ Swing/ Pop
Artist: A star in the walk of fame, a star in my eyes, and quite possibly every mum on the planet’s too. How could you not surrender to the Canadian crooner’s serenades? Grammy Award winner, Juno Award winner, the king of Christmas! Forget Jesus or Santa!
Label: Warner Bros Records, founded through Warner Bros film studios over 50 years ago. Since then, they have grown to be one of the most successful label's to date. With pride taken in focusing on the long-term career of an artist, you won’t see many flashes in the pan here. The evidence speaks for itself, signings include: Linkin Park, Red Hot Chilli Peppers and The Black Keys.
Slipknot - Heavy Metal / Nu Metal
Artist: As visually bold as they are musically, the Iowa native nine-piece certainly aren’t your run of the mill performers. With the nod of approval in the form of awards from both the Grammy’s and Kerrang, any hardcore headbanger has this heavy metal band’s tracks on replay and poster on their little sister’s wall (to scare the sh*t out of her).
Label: Roadrunner Records, specifically geared towards heavy metal, hard rock and alternative metals acts. This label is the one to trust for any avid listener of these genres. If you know rock music, you know Roadrunner Records.
Rudimental - Drum and bass / Electronic music / Jungle
Artist: The Hackney raised 4 man band came to fame for their chart topping tracks such as ‘Waiting All Night’ ft Ella Eyre and ‘Feel the Love’ ft John Newman. Effortlessly cool, with the Midas touch, turning any tune into big beats. It’s only right they be part of the roster of a label named just that.
Label: Big Beat Records, with household names such as Skrillex, Galantis and Clean Bandit as label mates you can see how the label nurtures electronic and dance artistry at the highest level.
Gorillaz - Trip-Hop / Electronica / Alternative Rock
Artist: If, for a second, you could envisage the hybrid created when you mix 'the imagination of a child music prodigy' and 'the cartoon sketches of a serial pot smoker', even then you'd still be a little off as to what the virtual band 'Gorillaz' is all about. But one thing's for sure, it's their unique style in both aesthetics and in signature sound which gets them noticed by the masses and turns them into diehard fans. Some songs I'd recommend are 'Feel Good Inc.' and 'Staurnz Barz (feat Popcaan)'.
Label: Parlophone, an unconventional label doing things its own way. As evidenced by its rich mixture of musical talent. From The Beatles, to Arcadia, Lily Allen to David Bowie. Parlophone certainly holds bragging rights for being home to some of the most internationally adored music artists to date.
Ed Sheeran - Folk Pop / Pop / Hip-Hop
Artist: One of the most talented songwriters of the music game, and also one of the most humble. Such a megastar yet sill so relatable, Sheeran is purely a musical genius. Having the ability to manipulate our emotions with the strum of a guitar string = music magic. Tell me you don't want to throw some shapes to 'Shape of You' or weep to 'Supermarket Flowers'?
Label: Asylum Records, launched in 1971, with a primary focus on hip-hop and alternative metal, home to artists: Wu-Tang Clan, PartyNextDoor, New Boyz and particularly popular songwriters such as Ed Sheeran, Charli XCX and Bob Dylan. From just these select few, you know it’s a highly credited label in the Warner Music family.
Bruno Mars - R&B / Funk / Soul
Artist: Blessed with a knack for creating foot-tapping, knee-slapping, hip-shaking disco tracks, such as the unstoppable ‘Uptown Funk’, this artist has a plethora of different awards under his 70’s style belt. Bruno was inspired from a young age by James Brown and has often spoken about how the artist changed his life. He’s also a wee 5ft 5in.
Label: Elektra Records, with roots solidly planted into the branches of both contemporary folk and rock music, it's only right that stars such as Queen and Metallica reigned supreme with the support of this label. With a real appreciation for real music Elektra Records is definitely a label I would be proud to work for.
